Local Attractions
Indian Point
Indian Point is a National Historic Site recognized by Parks Canada. It is the closest site to the Winter Home of the Beothuk and contains two Mamateek Replicas as well as various information boards. There is also a cookhouse, open to public use.
Community Church
Millertown’s Community Church was one of the first buildings built when the town was founded in 1900. The church is both United and Anglican, and still hosts monthly services.
The Iron Wheel
Probably the most noticeable landmark in the town of Millertown is the large iron wheel located next to our Boat Launch and our Loggers Landing Park on the shores of Red Indian Lake. It is one of the few remnants of what was once one of the largest industrial complexes in Newfoundland.
Exploits Dam
The Exploits Dam was built in 1926 to float pulp logs down the Exploits River to Grand-falls Windsor. The Exploits River, 246 km long is the longest river on the Island of Newfoundland and is a great tourist attraction
Mary March Wilderness Park and Campground
Mary March Wilderness Park Located 45kms south of Badger NL or 8km from Millertown is located on the shores of the historic Red Indian Lake. The park is one of the most beautiful settings our Province has to offer.
Geocaching
We have Six Geocaching sites waiting to be found in and around the Town of Millertown.
Lewis Miller Museum
The museum has many artifacts from the earlier logging days. Come and see for yourself, share all our memories and share some of your own. We have brought to life two projectors used to entertain the town folk on Movie Night.
Red Indian Lake
Red Indian Lake is the Second Largest Lake in Newfoundland and quite easy to spot on a map of the Province. Millertown is located right on the Northeast section of the lake, in the center of the island.
The Mountain
If you want to check out the amazing view of Millertown and the Red Indian Lake region then the “Mountain” is a must see for all tourist and locals.
Boat Launch and Dock Area
Enjoy our boat launch, it's free to use, and experience many more water activities such as swimming, or make use of the lake and bring your own canoe, kayak, Sea-doo or boat at various locations around Red Indian Lake Country.
Hiking Trails & Berry Picking
Hiking and Berry picking is easy here in Central Newfoundland with so many trails to pick from. Newfoundland’s Red Indian Lake area has much to offer and there are lots of berries you can pick from the side of the trail.

Hunting is a valued activity in Newfoundland and Labrador, providing recreational opportunities for residents and non-residents who, in turn, contribute to the province's wildlife management programs and economy through local spending and the outfitting industry.
